The special thing is that the Singapore Police reiterated that they do not suspect any foul play in his death.

Channel News Asia quoted the investigating officer as saying, “The singer was so intoxicated at the time that he had no sense of right and wrong. Many people saw him trying to swim back towards the yacht, however he became unconscious and eventually water entered his body, resulting in his death due to drowning.”

Did Zubeen Garg suffer from epilepsy?

Garg was at a yacht party on September 19 when he drowned, a day before his performance at the North East India Festival in Singapore. The court was also told that Garg, 52, suffered from high blood pressure and epilepsy, and his most recent epileptic seizure was in 2024. However, it was not known whether he had taken epilepsy medicine on the day of the incident or not, while statements of eyewitnesses were also recorded in the court.

Police told the court that their investigation revealed that about 20 other people aboard the yacht, including Zubeen along with his friends and Clegg, were consuming drinks and alcohol along with snacks during the outing. Garg was seen drinking, and an eyewitness claimed that he drank several cups of liquor, including gin and whiskey.
