Under Mission Clean UP, a network of 282 plastic waste management units is being prepared in Uttar Pradesh. 103 units have been built and 132 are under construction. This scheme is an important step towards a plastic-free, clean and green UP.
Lucknow. As per the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, a big and decisive step is being taken towards making Uttar Pradesh free from plastic waste. Under Mission Clean UP, a comprehensive network of 282 plastic waste management units is being created across the state. Through this mega plan, concrete initiatives have been started towards making the state free from plastic waste, which will strengthen both cleanliness and environmental protection.
Statewide network of 282 plastic waste management units
So far, construction work of 103 plastic waste management units has been completed in the state. At the same time, construction of 132 units is going on at a fast pace. The remaining units will be installed in a phased manner. Through these units, plastic waste will be collected, sorted and disposed of scientifically. This will enable an effective solution to the plastic waste that harms the environment and will also promote the concept of ‘Kachra Se Kanchan’.
Plastic waste will not be thrown in the open, there will be scientific processing
Panchayati Raj Director Amit Kumar Singh said that under this campaign of Yogi government, the system of plastic waste management has been started in 304 development blocks of the state. Along with this, 515 development blocks in urban areas have been covered with Municipal Material Recovery Facility (MRF). With this, instead of throwing plastic waste in the open, it will be processed in a systematic and safe manner, which will make effective control of pollution possible.
Strong chain of plastic waste management in all development segments
The aim of the Yogi government is to create a strong and sustainable chain of plastic waste management in all the development blocks of the state. For this, work is being done on an integrated model from Gram Panchayats to urban bodies. This scheme will not only give new impetus to the cleanliness campaign, but will also play an important role in freeing Uttar Pradesh from plastic waste.
Uttar Pradesh towards clean, green and sustainable development
According to Panchayati Raj Director Amit Kumar Singh, on one hand, the establishment of plastic waste management units will provide relief to the environment from pollution, on the other hand, new employment opportunities will also be created at the local level. This mega plan of Yogi government is moving towards giving Uttar Pradesh a new identity in the direction of clean, green and sustainable development.
