Under-19 World Cup: The stage is set for future superstars in Zimbabwe and Namibia. Under-19 World Cup is starting from January 15, where explosive players like Vaibhav Suryavanshi will enter the field. This will be the 16th season of the Under-19 World Cup in which the first match will be between India and America. There will be a total of 24 matches in the league stadium and all the matches including knock outs will start at 1 pm Indian time. Where will the Under 19 World Cup matches be held?
Under 19 World Cup The matches will be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia. The matches to be held in Zimbabwe will be played at Queen’s Sports Club, Harare Sports Club and Takashinga Sports Club in Harare. Whereas in Namibia, the matches will be held at the new Namibia Cricket Ground and HP Oval in Windhoek. Both Zimbabwe and Namibia will host 12-12 matches of the group stage. The next round, the Super Six and a playoff between the teams that did not make the Super Six, will also be split between Zimbabwe and Namibia. After this there will be knockout rounds, all of which will be played in Zimbabwe. The semi-finals will be played on 3 and 4 February at Queens Sports Club and Harare Sports Club and the final will be played on 6 February in Harare.
How many teams will participate in the Under-19 World Cup?
A total of 16 teams are participating in the Under-19 World Cup. Apart from Australia, India, Bangladesh, England, Ireland, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, South Africa and West Indies, Afghanistan, Japan, America, Namibia and Scotland are going to participate in this tournament.
Under 19 World Cup prize money
ICC does not give any official prize money in the Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup. This tournament especially focuses on the development of young players. However, the national cricket boards of winning teams often give cash rewards to their players. BCCI had given Rs 30 lakh to each player on India’s victory in 2024. On India’s victory in the Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025, BCCI gave Rs 5 crore to the entire team.
DRS in Under-19 World Cup?
DRS will not be used in the Under-19 World Cup. However, there will definitely be a TV umpire in every match.
