Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir) [भारत]July 5 (ANI): A cordon and search operation is being conducted in Saidpora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district after gunshots were heard during an anti-terrorist operation late Saturday night. According to officials, gunshots were heard during the ongoing cordon and search operation in Saidpora.
Following the incident, additional security personnel were sent to the area to further strengthen the operation. Further details are awaited. Security forces have maintained a strong presence in the area as the search operation continues. This operation is taking place amidst the continuous anti-terrorism efforts being carried out by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
‘Operation Sheruwali’ continues on 40th day in Rajouri
Earlier, on July 1, ‘Operation Sheruwali’ entered its 40th day with security forces continuing extensive search operations in the forested areas of Dorimal in Gambhir Mughalan area of Manjakot sector of Rajouri district. The objective of this operation is to locate the terrorists hiding in the dense forest area.
Security forces have continued search and surveillance operations with the help of advanced equipment and coordinated ground operations. ‘Operation Sheruwali’, which began in late May, is a large-scale anti-terrorist search mission in the dense forests of Dorimal-Gambhir Mughalan sector. The objective of this multi-agency operation is to locate and neutralize armed infiltrators hiding in the rugged hilly terrain of the region.
Officials have said that this operation will continue until all its objectives are completely achieved. This lengthy operation reflects the determination of the security forces to maintain peace and security in the border district Rajouri.
Earlier, on June 16, a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and three Army personnel were injured in a mine blast accidentally occurred during a routine patrol along the Line of Control (LoC) in Forward Kalal area of Nowshera sector.
