Washington DC [यूएस]July 5 (ANI): Taking part in the July 4 event held on the National Mall to mark America’s 250th Independence Day, celebrants expressed their excitement at being present at the historic occasion on Saturday (local time).
Citizens enjoyed the festivities braving the scorching heat on Friday (local time) followed by heavy thundershowers on Saturday (local time).
An American citizen told ANI, “So, it’s always been important to be here. I think it’s good for everyone to be represented here, for everyone to be out here and like my friend said, understanding the story. That kind of thing and the brotherhood that we have as Americans, it’s always good to carry forward. I think that’s a very important factor that we should always spread and try to show other people what we are. But yes, I mean that “We were out here in 100-degree heat earlier. We were sweating a lot, but we made it through and came back for the fireworks.”
John Harman, a resident of Leesburg, Virginia, expressed his enthusiasm, calling America a powerful country. He said, “Well, 250 years of great power, kind people, wonderful country. Just love it. I’m a patriot, I enjoy, I’m very grateful to be here. I think every American should get down on their knees and thank God that they were born here or came here and can live here.”

After the US President’s July 4 address was delayed due to inclement weather, Donald Trump on Saturday (local time) announced his arrival at DC’s National Mall to join those celebrating 250 years of US independence.
“I’m here!!! DJT,” he said in a post on Truth Social.

The celebration will last throughout the year
On July 4, America is celebrating 250 years of its independence. The White House noted on its official website that under President Trump, the United States is planning a full year of celebrations, beginning on Memorial Day, 2025, and continuing through the end of 2026.
The White House is engaging all levels of government, the private sector, nonprofit and educational institutions, and every citizen across the country to celebrate this historic milestone. (ANI)
