Kotak Bank share price: Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank were turned ex-split in ratio of 1:5 that is one share of Kotak Mahindra Bank has been subdivided into five shares consequently the stock opened for trading at ₹426 per share on the National Stock Exchange against its previous close of ₹2,132.60. On the BSE, Kotak Mahindra Bank shares opened for trading at ₹425.05 and declined as much as 0.72% to hit an intraday low of ₹422.
Kotak Mahindra Bank’s board had in November last year approved the proposal of a stock split, or subdivision, of its shares.
The board had approved the subdivision (split) of one existing equity share of the bank having a face value of ₹5 each, fully paid-up, into 5 (five) equity shares of the bank having a face value of ₹1 each, fully paid-up.
A 1:5 stock split means that for every 1 share a shareholder currently owns will receive five shares after the split.
A stock split increases share count and reduces the share price, but your total investment value and ownership remain unchanged because it is simply a mathematical adjustment.
The last time Kotak Bank split its shares was in 2015, when the lender had subdivided the stock in a 2:1 ratio.
Kotak Mahindra Bank Q3 update
The Mumbai-based private sector lender reported a rise in total deposits and advances for the quarter ended December 31, 2025.
The bank’s net advances grew 16% to ₹4.80 lakh crore in Q3 FY26 as compared to ₹4.13 lakh crore in Q3 FY25. Sequentially, it rose 3.8%. The average net advances jumped 16.2% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹4.65 crore as against ₹4 lakh crore. On a quarterly basis, the average net advances surged 4%.
The private lender’s total deposit for Q3 FY26 stood at ₹5.42 lakh crore, climbing 14.6% YoY from ₹4.73 lakh crore. It rose 2.6% on a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis.
Further, the average total deposit increased 14.7% to ₹5.26 lakh crore in contrast to ₹4.58 lakh crore YoY, while on a quarterly basis, it advanced 3.1%.
Kotak Mahindra Bank’s case account and savings account (CASA) jumped 12% YoY to ₹2.24 lakh crore as compared to ₹2 lakh crore in Q3 FY25. On a QoQ basis, it edged up marginally by 0.2%.
The average CASA for the quarter under review grew 9% and 5% on a YoY and QoQ basis, respectively, to ₹2.07 lakh crore.
As of 10:01 am, Kotak Mahindra Bank shares traded 0.91% lower at ₹422.50, underperforming the NIFTY50 index which was trading on a flat note.
