A gold necklace was stolen from the neck of a sleeping girl in Karulai, Malappuram. The thief had entered the house of Parakkal Ashraf of Pallikunnu early in the morning. He brought a ladder from another house, broke the door of the second floor and entered the house. The thief was wearing only a lungi wrapped around his neck and a winter cap to hide his face. Around two in the morning, the thief came to Parakkal Ashraf’s house in Karulai Pallikunnu and searched every nook and corner of the house. He could not find any way to get in from below. But the thief came up with a trick. He brought a ladder from the adjacent house and climbed to the second floor, broke the door there and entered inside. The family members told that he searched all the cupboards.
The thief ran away even after the girl screamed
The girl screamed as she pulled the gold necklace from her neck. The family members immediately called the neighbors, but by then the thief had fled. Within a short time the police reached the spot and investigated. Locals said that thefts have also become common in nearby Kuttampara and Valamburam areas in the last few days.
