Bangkok: A passenger train derailed in Thailand on Wednesday, leaving at least 22 people dead and over 30 injured after a construction crane collapsed onto the moving train, according to police officials quoted by AFP.
The accident occurred on Wednesday morning in the Sikhio district of Nakhon Ratchasima province, around 230 kilometres northeast of Bangkok. The train was travelling from the Thai capital towards the country’s northeastern region. It was en route to Ubon Ratchathani when the mishap took place.
