A case of raping a woman from Ghaziabad after making her unconscious in a hotel in Rajasthan and blackmailing her by making obscene videos has come to light. The victim woman lives in a society in Rajnagar Extension.
Police have registered a case on the basis of the complaint and started investigating the matter.
The victim woman says that she lives with her husband. The financial condition of the family was deteriorating for a long time, due to which she was looking for a job. During this time, he met Ravi Verma, a resident of Palm Resort Society of Rajnagar Extension, who introduced himself as a big businessman of clothes in Ghaziabad and assured him of getting a job.

Ravi Verma said that he is going out for a few days and will get the work done when he returns. Due to financial constraints, he trusted the accused. After some time, the accused came home showing sympathy, gave ration and necessary items and presented himself as a helper and well-wisher.
According to the victim, in the meantime her husband met with an accident. During this time, Ravi Verma again brought sweets and clothes home and said that all this happened because Khatu Shyam did not go. Due to continuous talks and trust, she completely came under the influence of the accused.
Khatu Shyam had gone with him for darshan.
The woman says that on 16 November 2024, Ravi Verma took her with him to visit Khatu Shyam. After reaching there, on the pretext of taking a quick darshan, he took a room in a hotel to take a bath. It is alleged that the accused made her drink water in the room, after which she started feeling dizzy and lost consciousness. Taking advantage of this situation, Ravi Verma raped her. The woman alleges that Ravi also blackmailed her by making an obscene video.
Case sent to Rajasthan Police, returned from there
ACP Nandgram Upasana Pandey said that since the incident took place in Rajasthan, the case was transferred there, but Rajasthan Police sent the case back to Ghaziabad citing the beginning of the incident. In the same sequence, on January 8, a case was registered against the accused in Nandgram police station under sections of rape, assault, intimidation and blackmailing. Action will be taken on the basis of the victim’s statement, medical and other evidence.
