If you recharge your mobile every month, it may put extra burden on your pocket in the coming months. ANI has given information about a new research report in its report, according to which the price of mobile tariff plans in India is likely to increase once again.
It is estimated that in the next three to four months, private telecom companies may make their recharge plans costlier by 12 to 15 percent. However, no telecom company has made its official announcement yet.
The estimate is made in Centrum Institutional Research’s Q1FY27 Telecom and Internet Sector Report. According to the report, the Indian telecom market is now limited to limited players. At present, the government company BSNL is present mainly in the private sector along with Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea. In such a situation, the possibility of increasing tariffs for companies is considered higher than before.
Changes will increase companies’ earnings
The report says that the average earnings per customer i.e. ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) of mobile companies may also increase by about 1 to 1.5 percent in the June quarter. The main reasons for this are said to be the rapid shift of 2G users to 4G and 5G networks, increase in the number of postpaid customers and more days in the quarter.
Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are also expected to get an edge in terms of number of customers. According to the report, Jio may add around 70 lakh new subscribers in the June quarter, while Airtel is expected to add around 50 lakh new users. At the same time, about 2 lakh new customers of Vodafone Idea can join.
5G is expanding rapidly
5G network is being expanded rapidly by all the companies. Jio and Airtel have extended their 5G services to more than 90 percent of the districts in the country. Now both the companies are focusing more on 5G devices, Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and fixed broadband customers. On the other hand, Vodafone Idea has also started 5G service in about 100 cities and is gradually expanding its network.
The financial condition of Vodafone Idea has also been mentioned in the report. It said that the current value of AGR liability has come down to around Rs 25,000 crore, which may provide some relief to the company.
