Undhiyu is Jethalal’s favorite vegetable in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. This is a very old traditional dish of Gujarat which is not only rich in taste but also rich in many nutrients. In making Undhiyu, along with many root vegetables, green leafy vegetables and vegetables like beans, vegetables like raw banana, surti papdi, brinjal are filled in an earthen pot with spices and cooked with spices, hence Undhiyu is no less than a boon for health. Some people or children generally do not like this vegetable, but you can make wraps of it so that everyone will eat Undhiyu with pleasure.

It takes a lot of time to make Undhiyu, because after filling all the vegetables, the pot is turned upside down and kept on the flame and Undhiyu keeps cooking slowly. Ingredients to make Undhiyu Wraps

To make wraps, you can either take tortilla or use wheat bread. Apart from this, to make 2-3 rolls, you will need 2 tomatoes, 2 onions, 2 spoons of tomato sauce, 2-3 spoons of green chutney, 1 to 2 spoons of oil, you can also take a little crushed cheese. Apart from this Undhiyu.

  • First of all, you have to wash the tomatoes and cut them into round slices like chips. Similarly, peel the onion and cut it into slices.
  • In this Veg Undhiyu Wrap, you can add any raw vegetables of your choice like thin slices of radish, cucumber.
  • Now for the number of rolls you want to make, apply a little oil on the roti and make it light on one side and a little crisp on the other side.
  • Now spread green chutney well on the roti with a spoon and then apply tomato sauce in the same manner.
