Yash’s Toxic Teaser Lands In Trouble? CBFC Makes Revelations: The highly anticipated pan Indian project, which marks the comeback to the Kannada superstar to the big screens, has been making headlines with its teaser lately.
The Toxic teaser, which introduced Yash’s character Raya, has been creating quite a stir on social media with its explicit content which does justice to the tagline ‘A Fairytale For Grown Ups.’
The Aam Aadmi Party Women’s Wing filed a formal complaint at the Karnataka State Women’s Commission against Toxic, which is directed by Malayalam actress-filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, citing that the teaser’s explicit and obscene visuals harm the social well-being of women and children. In the complaint, AAP Women’s Wing also alleged that the Toxic teaser undermines traditional values of Karnataka.
Yash’s Toxic Teaser: CBFC Makes Revelations On Certification
As per the reports, the Karnataka State Women’s Commission officially wrote to the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC), asking to take immediate and appropriate action against the newly released glimpses of Yash and Geetu Mohandas’ film. However, the censor board has now confirmed that the makers, KVN Productions, have not submitted any visuals or assets for the censor certification process, yet.
The recent reports by India Today suggest that the censor board has also clarified that the Toxic teaser, which is currently released only on social media, does not require its certification for the release. According to CBFC, only the content that are screened in theatres or television require the clearance from the board. The reports suggests that the censor board has not formally received the Toxic teaser or trailer or any other content from the Yash starrer for certification, yet.
AAP Women’s Wing’s Letter To The Karnataka Women’s Commission
Reportedly, AAP Women’s Wing secretary Usha Mohan, who sent a formal letter to the Women’s Commission, stated that the Toxic teaser contains explicit content that degrades the dignity of women, and plainly insults the Kannada culture. Both Yash and director Geetu Mohandas have not reacted to these allegations yet.
Yash is set to play the central character Raya in Toxic, which is gearing up to be released on March 19, 2026. The gangster drama film features five leading ladies including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria. The Geetu Mohandas film is jointly produced by KVN Productions and Yash’s home banner Monster Mind Creations.
