Ishant Sharma Captain: Team India’s fast bowler Ishant Sharma was made the captain of Delhi team in Vijay Hazare Trophy. Ishant Sharma was appointed captain just before the quarter-final match, due to the exclusion of Rishabh Pant and Ayush Badoni. Actually, Rishabh Pant, who was leading Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, got injured just before the New Zealand ODI series and was ruled out of both the ODI series and Vijay Hazare Trophy. Ayush Badoni has been selected in Team India for the next two ODI matches and due to this he is not playing the quarter-finals of Vijay Hazare Trophy, as a result 37-year-old Ishant Sharma was made the captain of Delhi.

Ishant Sharma has bowled amazingly in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. This player has taken 8 wickets in 7 matches so far. The amazing thing is that in a tournament where the bowlers are being badly beaten, Ishant Sharma’s economy rate is only 3.6 runs per over. Ishant Sharma also bowled well in the quarter-final match against Vidarbha and he bowled opener Arthav Taide. Taide was proving to be very dangerous for the Delhi team, who scored 62 runs in 72 balls.

He played his last ODI match for India in 2016 and T20 match in 2013. Although he is active in domestic cricket and his strength is visible in IPL also. Ishant Sharma is a part of Gujarat Titans team. Last year he performed very poorly, he was able to take only 4 wickets in 7 matches, his economy rate was more than 11 runs per over.
