The stampede took place on December 4, 2024, during a special benefit show of ‘Pushpa 2’ at Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad.

On June 22, the Nampally Criminal Court in Hyderabad, Telangana had adjourned the hearing of the Sandhya theater stampede case till July 6. Actor Allu Arjun is also one of the accused in this case.

The hearing was adjourned after some of the accused failed to appear before the magistrate. The legal team of Sandhya Theater said that actor Allu Arjun did not attend virtually and his lawyer had filed an absence petition.

What is Sandhya theater stampede case?

Chikkadpally police have named the actor as accused number 11, while the management of Sandhya Theater has been listed as accused numbers 1 to 10. The Nampally court has issued summons to 19 accused, and the police have already filed a chargesheet against 23 people in connection with the incident.

In the stampede, a woman named Revathi lost her life, while her son Mr. Teja suffered serious injuries.

The stampede happened when a huge crowd had gathered outside the theater to catch a glimpse of the actor during the film’s premiere. As Allu Arjun greeted fans from the sunroof of his car, the situation quickly went out of control.

During the chaos, Revathi tragically died and her son Mr. Teja suffered serious injuries, due to which he was admitted to the hospital.

Help of Rs 2 crore to the victim’s family

To help the victim’s family, Arjun also extended financial assistance. Her father, filmmaker Allu Aravind, announced a contribution of Rs 2 crore to help the family of Revathi who tragically lost her life in the incident.
