A soldier who was on leave for the delivery of his pregnant wife died in a road accident in Satara. A few hours after his death, his wife gave birth to a daughter. This accident happened when he was going to collect goods from the hospital.
Kolhapur: A heart-wrenching incident has happened in Satara district of Maharashtra. Here a soldier had come on leave to take care of his pregnant wife and be with her during her delivery, but she died in a road accident. There is mourning in the entire village due to the death of the soldier just moments before the birth of the child. Indian Army Havildar Pramod Jadhav died in a road accident in Satara city on Friday night, and shortly after his wife gave birth to a daughter in a private nursing home.
Soldier Pramod Jadhav was posted in the Indian Army in Leh, Ladakh. Just a few weeks ago, he had returned to his village Dere Turf Aarey in Satara district to take care of his pregnant wife Rutuja. On Friday, Rutuja was admitted to a private nursing home in Satara for delivery. In the evening, when Pramod Jadhav was going to collect his belongings from home, his bike was hit by a mini truck carrying vegetables from the market. Police said that he was seriously injured in the accident and died on the way to the hospital.
Inspector Sachin Metre of Shahupuri police station said, “Soldier Pramod Jadhav was returning alone on a bike to the nursing home in Satara. During this time, a mini truck carrying vegetables to the markets in Wadegaon Phata suddenly came in front of him and hit him. The people present there immediately took Pramod to the hospital, where he was declared dead. We have arrested the driver of the mini truck and seized the vehicle. The accident happened around Friday night. It happened at 8:30. Perhaps both the jawan and the driver of the mini truck were in a hurry, and this might have caused the accident.”
Here, Jadhav’s relatives and friends decided not to tell Rutuja about this accident immediately. But Jadhav had promised to come back, so she kept asking about her husband again and again. After spending the whole night worried, she gave birth to a daughter in the early hours of Saturday. Only after this the relatives informed him about the accident. Despite this shock, she reached the grounds of her village on a stretcher with her newborn daughter and had the last glimpse of her husband. Also, the girl was shown the face of her lifeless father for the first and last time. This moment was so emotional that everyone’s eyes became moist. Everyone present there cried cursing their fate. Pramod Jadhav’s last rites were performed with full military honours.
Pramod Jadhav was the only son of his parents and his mother had passed away a year earlier. Pramod had joined the army in 2014 and got married himself after getting his three sisters married. But fate had written something else in the life of Pramod Jadhav, who dreamed of a beautiful life.
