The investigating officers have publicly apologized to these accused. The agency said that notices were issued and the person who uploaded this video for the first time was identified. One of the accused has apologized for sharing this link without verifying it. Maharashtra Cyber reiterated its commitment to take strict action against cyber abuse.
Maharashtra Cyber on Sunday said it has detained and issued notices to several people in connection with circulating a deepfake video involving popular YouTuber Payal Gaming. Cyber Crime Unit said that a public apology has been sought from the people involved in this.

Sharing an update on the investigation into the case in an Instagram post, Maharashtra Cyber said it has traced and taken action against those uploading and circulating objectionable content. “Multiple uploaders have been caught, served notices, and have issued public apologies. We have also identified one of the first uploaders of the content, who will be caught soon,” the post read.

The agency reiterated its commitment to take strict action against misuse of technology and violations of law. The post also included pictures of the criminals and videos of them apologizing.
In one such video, an accused named Abhishek Jadaun also apologized unconditionally for sharing the link of the deepfake video on his Instagram story without verifying it. She said she had been given counseling by Maharashtra Cyber and acknowledged that her actions had damaged the YouTuber’s reputation. He expressed remorse and assured that he would not repeat such behavior in future.
