CBI has now started strict interrogation of actor-turned-politician Thalapathy Vijay in the Karur stampede case. On 27 September 2025, a stampede broke out during the rally of Vijay’s party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in Karur district of Tamil Nadu, in which 41 people were tragically killed. CBI has asked many serious questions to Vijay regarding the incidents that took place during the rally. The investigating agency asked why the speech was not stopped even when people were fainting in front of the stage. Apart from this, the question was also raised as to why emergency steps were not taken immediately despite water bottles being distributed.
