UP City Jalalabad Renamed: Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved changing the name of Jalalabad tehsil of Shahjahanpur to ‘Lord Parshuram Puri’. Besides, 27 big proposals including Startup Policy 2026, Data Center Policy, New University, Hospital and Livestock Insurance Scheme were also approved.

The Uttar Pradesh government approved many major decisions in the cabinet meeting held on Monday. The most discussed among these is the decision to change the name of Jalalabad tehsil of Shahjahanpur district. In the meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the cabinet approved the proposal to rename Jalalabad as ‘Bhagwan Parshuram Puri’. With the decision, the administration has started the process of registering the new name in government records and documents.

A total of 27 proposals were approved in this meeting, which include startup policy, data center policy, new university, medical college and schemes related to farmers.

The new name of Jalalabad will be ‘Lord Parshuram Puri’

After the cabinet approval, Jalalabad tehsil of Shahjahanpur will now be officially known as ‘Bhagwan Parshuram Puri’. After the government’s decision, the process of registering the new name in all government records, departmental documents and administrative records has started.

Even before this, names of many cities and places have been changed in Uttar Pradesh. Now Jalalabad has also been included in the list of places whose new administrative identity has been decided.

Startup mission, new policies and insurance scheme approved

After the cabinet meeting, IT and Electronics Minister Sunil Sharma said that to promote investment and innovation in the state, the formation of Uttar Pradesh Startup Policy 2026, Data Center Policy 2026 and Startup Mission has been approved.

At the same time, Chief Minister Risk Management and Livestock Insurance Scheme of Livestock and Dairy Development Department was also approved. Under this scheme, insurance facility will be provided to small and marginal farmers, cattle herders and dairy operators in case of epidemic, disability or death of their animals. The government has given instructions to implement this scheme in all 75 districts of the state.

Big decision for new university, hospital and players

The Cabinet has approved the establishment of Maharishi Yogi International Agricultural University in Bilhaur, Kanpur, Thakur Yugraj Singh University in Fatehpur and Ajay Kumar Garg University in Ghaziabad. Apart from this, hospitals with 100 beds each will be built in Gorakhpur and Moradabad, while free land transfer has been approved for the establishment of ESI Medical College in Varanasi. 50 percent seats in this medical college will be reserved for the families of workers.

The Cabinet also approved the proposal to provide direct government jobs to Olympic and Para Olympic medal winners, establish a horticulture college in Rae Bareli and increase the pension of chairpersons and members of the Public Service Commission. However, at present no final decision has been taken on the proposal related to gratuity of Madrasa teachers.
