Patiala Hospital Incident: In a hospital in Patiala, Punjab, a dog was seen walking around with the child’s head. Around 5:30 pm last day, a dog was seen with the child’s head near ward number four of Rajindra Hospital. The medical superintendent said that all the newborns are being monitored in the hospital and it is feared that the body of the dog would have brought the body of the child to the hospital premises from outside. The Health Minister has ordered an inquiry into the incident.

Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh has directed the hospital administration and local police to investigate the case. He said that the recovered body part has been handed over to the forensic team for examination and the state government is taking the matter very seriously. According to the initial report of the hospital’s medical superintendent Dr. Vishal Chopra, all the newborns are in the ward and no child is missing. He said that recently three children died in the hospital and after all the necessary procedures, the bodies were handed over to the relatives. He said that it seems that someone must have thrown the body of the child from outside.

Superintendent of Police Palwinder Singh Cheema said that the hospital has informed the police about the incident and investigation has been started. He said, “We have taken a list of living and dead infants in the hospital and are checking each one. CCTV is working well in the hospital and we are all looking at footage. The case has been registered and action will be taken against the culprits.”
