In an interview given to NDTV, Mustafa Ahmed told that Ranveer Singh had only six weeks before the shooting of the film started. At that time, his initial weight was around 76-77 kg, but by the time the shooting started, his weight increased to 87-88 kg. According to him, all the actors on the set were being trained in such a way that their personality appeared very dangerous and powerful on the screen.

Mustafa Ahmed revealed that Ranveer Singh used to take 3600 to 4000 calories daily. His diet included plenty of chicken, rice and red meat (mutton). Apart from this, he used to take about 240 grams of protein every day. He told, “He used to eat more food than me. When he started, he was leaner than me. One special thing about Ranveer is that if you ask him to do something, he works like a machine.”

According to the trainer, Ranveer Singh used to drink two protein shakes a day. He got about 600 to 700 calories from each shake. That means, about 1200 to 1500 calories per day were fulfilled only by protein shake. The remaining calories were fulfilled through high-protein food.
