A techie from Bengaluru has created a helmet with AI to detect traffic rule violators. This device records information like number plate, location of rule breakers and sends reports directly to the police.
benTired of frequent traffic violations in Galuru city, the surprising invention of a techie is going viral. This techie has created an AI-powered helmet, which identifies traffic rule breakers and sends reports directly to the police with evidence.
‘Tired of seeing stupid people…’
An IT company employee named Pankaj Tanwar has converted his helmet into a traffic monitoring device. He shared his experiment on social media platform X. Pankaj Tanwar wrote that he was ‘tired of seeing stupid people on the road’ and that is why he turned his helmet into a traffic police device. Tanwar says that the AI agent installed in this helmet detects violations of traffic rules in real-time. He said that it records information like number plate registration along with the location of those driving without helmet and sends this data directly to the police.
Tanwar explained in his post that this system is not limited to just recording, but it also creates evidence and identifies the criminal. He also shared an incident in which a person riding a scooter without a helmet was immediately reported. His post went viral very fast.
This idea got a tremendous response on social media. Some users called it great engineering, while some suggested that similar technology could be implemented in car dashcams as well. One user said that if the authorities announce some reward to those who report violations reported through such systems, people will automatically participate in traffic improvements. In a later post, Tanwar said he was surprised by the viral response. He made it clear that he just likes to experiment.
