The Ernakulam North Police are set to question actress Lakshmi Menon in connection with the abduction and assault of an IT employee in Kochi.
The incident, which first started off as a quarrel at a bar on Banerjee Road, escalated late Sunday night and led to the victim allegedly being kidnapped, beaten, and threatened inside a car.
Actress Lakshmi Menon Linked To Kochi Abduction Gang Case
As reported by Manorama Online, according to the complaint filed by Aluva native an argument broke out between two groups at a bar in the city. Lakshmi Menon, along with Mithun, Aneesh, and another female friend, was reportedly part of one of the groups. The argument spilled out onto the street, and when the complainant and his friends attempted to leave, the accused followed their vehicle. The complainant’s car was then stopped and he was forcibly dragged out.
She is being traced by the police in connection with the case of the abduction and assault of the IT employee near Ernakulam North Bridge, police have arrested three -Mithun, Aneesh, and Sonamol. According to the police, actress Lakshmi Menon was with them at the time. She is currently absconding, and police are searching for her.
Police have taken video evidence of her involvement in the incident. Footage shows the actress and her fellow aides blocking a car on a busy road and engaging in objectionable behaviour.
Lakshmi, who hails from Thrippunithura, first entered Malayalam cinema in 2011 with director Vinayan’s Raghavinte Swantham Raziya. She was seen in several Malayalam and Tamil films such as Sasikumar’s Sundarapandian’, Kutti Puli’, Siddharth’s Jigarthanda, and Ravi Mohan’s Miruthan.
She was last seen in Sabdham, a horror thriller film written and directed by Arivazhagan Venkatachalam. She was also seen in Chandramukhi 2 acomedy horror film written and directed by P. Vasu, and produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions. It is a sequel to the 2005 film Chandramukhi. The film stars Raghava Lawrence, Kangana Ranaut and Lakshmi Menon. Chandramukhi 2 was released in 2023 and opened to poor critical and commercial response, different to the success of its predecessor.
