Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Saurashtra-Kutch as the center of India’s growth in the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference. Giving a message to investors that ‘this is the time’, he called upon them to invest in green energy, manufacturing and infrastructure.

Gandhinagar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his first visit to Gujarat since the beginning of 2026, reached Rajkot on Sunday to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) after visiting Somnath Mahadev. He said that today the mantra of ‘development also, heritage also’ is resonating across the country.

Vibrant Gujarat: Journey from a dream to global benchmark

The Prime Minister said that the Vibrant Gujarat Yatra, which started as a dream two decades ago, has today become a global benchmark and a symbol of unwavering trust. Till now 10 editions have been organized. Initially its objective was to introduce the world to the potential of Gujarat, but today it has gone beyond investment and has become a strong platform for global growth and partnership. In this, corporate groups, MSMEs, startups and international institutions are moving forward together.

Immense potential in every area of ​​Gujarat

The Prime Minister said that every region of Gujarat has its own distinct strength – be it coastal areas, tribal pattas, industrial clusters, agriculture or animal husbandry. Today India is moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world. India is among the top countries in the world in milk production, generic drugs, vaccine manufacturing, mobile manufacturing, UPI digital transactions, startup ecosystem, solar power and metro network.

Investment confidence increased through reform, perform and transform

The Prime Minister said that today big global institutions are eager to invest in India due to the mantra of ‘Reform, Perform and Transform’. IMF considers India as an engine of global growth and agencies like Fitch are praising India’s economic stability. India has become the first choice for investors due to policy stability, growing middle class and increasing purchasing power.

‘This is the time, this is the right time’ – appeal to investors

The Prime Minister told investors that ‘this is the time, this is the right time’. India is rapidly moving towards developed India and this is the best time to invest in Saurashtra and Kutch. This field has taught that with honesty and hard work every challenge can be converted into an opportunity.

Saurashtra-Kutch: India’s new growth center

The Prime Minister said that Saurashtra and Kutch have now become not just areas of opportunities, but major centers of India’s growth. There are more than 2.5 lakh MSMEs operating in Rajkot alone, where everything from screwdrivers to auto parts, machine tools and rocket parts are manufactured. The sector supports the entire value chain of high-tech manufacturing.

Industrial expansion from Morbi to Dholera

Today Morbi has made a global name for itself in tiles production. The Prime Minister said that he had once dreamed of making Morbi-Jamnagar-Rajkot a ‘mini Japan’, which is coming true today. India’s first semiconductor fabrication facility is being built in Dholera Special Investment Region.

Hub of Green Energy and Energy Security

Saurashtra and Kutch are today becoming big centers of green growth and energy security. The world’s largest hybrid renewable energy park of 30 gigawatt capacity is being built in Kutch. Kutch and Jamnagar are emerging rapidly in green hydrogen. Grid stability is also being ensured here through Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

Port, logistics and export strength

The Prime Minister said that the Saurashtra-Kutch region is connected to world class ports. Pipavav and Mundra Ports are today the major centers of automobile export of India.

Skill Development and Education Ecosystem

The Prime Minister said that Gujarat is a leader in preparing skilled manpower for industries. Future-ready skills are being developed through Kaushalya-The Skill University, National Defense University and Gati Shakti University. Two Australian universities have started their campuses in Gujarat.

Gujarat Tourism: A Confluence of Heritage and Experience

Gujarat has a unique confluence of nature, adventure, culture and heritage. Lothal, Kutch Rann Utsav, Gir Forest, Shivrajpur Blue Flag Beach, Mandvi, Somnath, Dwarka and Diu are major tourist attractions.

Reform Express and Next Generation Reforms

The Prime Minister said that next generation reforms have been brought to aim for a developed India—GST reforms, 100% FDI in insurance sector, new income tax law, reforms in labor code, AI, semiconductor and nuclear energy.
