President Zelenskyy expected to visit India this year, says Ukraine envoy

Ukraine’s Ambassador to India, Oleksandr Polishchuk, announced that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to visit India this year to discuss joint projects. The announcement was made at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot.

Ambassador of Ukraine to India, Oleksandr Polishchuk, said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to visit India later this year to discuss projects that the two countries can undertake together. Speaking to ANI at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, Ambassador Polishchuk said the event provided an excellent platform to explore cooperation and business opportunities. “Vibrant Gujarat is a very good opportunity for us to discuss business projects and cooperation. We had a very great time. We are looking forward to having President Zelenskyy this year in India so we can discuss the projects we can run together in India and Ukraine,” he said.

Polishchuk’s remarks come as India and Ukraine continue to explore avenues for collaboration across sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, and trade, with diplomatic engagement expected to gain momentum in the coming months.

Rwanda Highlights Strong Bilateral Ties

Meanwhile, Rwanda’s Ambassador to India, Jacqueline Mukangira, also highlighted strong bilateral ties and growing economic cooperation between India and Rwanda, describing the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference as a valuable platform for partnership-building. “I was pleased to represent my country here. Rwanda is one of the partner countries here. There is a lot in common between our two countries. India enjoys excellent bilateral relations with Rwanda. India is the second biggest foreign investor in Rwanda, and India is the second largest trading partner with Rwanda,” Mukangira said.

About the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference

The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference continues to attract participation from diplomats, business leaders, and policymakers, reinforcing India’s position as a hub for global investment and international cooperation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for the Kutch and Saurashtra regions in Rajkot on Sunday. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi were also present.

The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference is being held from January 11-12, 2026, catering to 12 districts across the Kutch and Saurashtra regions, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Dedicated exclusively to these regions, the conference aims to generate fresh momentum for investment and industrial growth in western Gujarat.

The focus sectors of the conference include ceramics, engineering, ports and logistics, fisheries, petrochemicals, agro and food processing, minerals, green energy ecosystem, skill development, startups, MSMEs, tourism, and culture, among others.

Japan, South Korea, Rwanda, and Ukraine are the partner countries for the conference.
