Ujjain Religious Tourism: August 27 was very special for Madhya Pradesh in terms of religious tourism. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Tourism-Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat launched the Second Global Spiritual Tourism Conference ‘Ruh Mantic’ in Ujjain on 27 August. This second global spiritual tourism conference further strengthened the concept to make Madhya Pradesh a global center of religious tourism. The Chief Minister said that India is the best place for self -thinking and Madhya Pradesh is being developed as ‘Heart of Incredible India’. Religious tourism has got new pace under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, due to which the number of tourists in the state is increasing rapidly.

Preparations for Simhastha 2028 of Ujjain in full swing

• Prime Minister Modi has acknowledged the importance of religious tourism along with the economic progress of the country. Mega projects like Shri Krishna Paithe have been approved in Madhya Pradesh. Preparations for Simhastha 2028 of Ujjain are in full swing, which will develop the city as a spiritual tourist center. The country has major religious tourist places like Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Tirupati and Varanasi, including Ujjain soon.
• The event is a symbol of India’s rich cultural heritage and revival of religious tourism, which will give not only the state but the entire country globally.

• The head of ISKCON Ujjain said that the development of pilgrimages begins the spiritual journey of tourists.
• Many cities in the world have been developed with special purpose. Such as Las Begas in America, Mumbai, Surat and Ujjain in India. Ujjain is moving forward with state -of -the -art facilities.
• There are top 10 cities in the world, identity for religious tourism. 4 cities of India- Prayagraj (20 million tourists per year), Ayodhya (3 crore tourists per year), Tirupati (3 to 4 crore tourists per year) and Varanasi are included in it. We hope that Ujjain will be included in this list very soon.
• The state government has resolved to develop Shri Krishna Patiya.

• Many cultures were born in the world, but Indian culture is still alive. Our culture faced an attack for 2000 years, suffering 200 years of slavery, but today Indian culture is rich.
• Two and a half thousand years ago, when humans were searching for their existence in the world, then there was a tradition of pilgrimage in India. Adi Shankaracharya introduced the world to Indian culture by traveling 24 thousand kilometers from Kerala to Persia.
• Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Ujjain is the city of era. Today’s time is from India. Those who are competing with India in the world are considering themselves weak.
• In the Sandipani Ashram of Ujjain, Lord Krishna took many arts and learning. There is no place in the world better than India for self -thinking.
• Today countries may have boundaries, but there are no limits of religion and culture. Indian culture extends to Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
• The temple of Baba Mahakal is built on 1000 bighas of land in Ujjain. In Anandpur Dham, devotion to Guru Maharaj is being done with Nirankari Bhav.

The conference was also attended by the head of ISKCON, officials of PhD Chamber of Commerce and representatives of various religious trusts. The development of several pilgrimage centers, including the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, was discussed, and plans were prepared to introduce tourists to Vedanta and Advaita philosophy. 11 crore tourists arrived in the state in 2023 and 13 crore tourists in 2024, whose number is increasing by 20 percent annually.
