Even though the Kotdwar District Court has sentenced Pulkit Arya, Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit alias Pulkit Gupta to life imprisonment in the much-discussed Ankita Bhandari murder case, the secret of that VIP has not been revealed yet, which is still in the news.
Convicted Ankit Gupta had promised Ankita Bhandari, who worked as a receptionist at the resort, Rs 10,000 to provide extra service to VIPs, after which a fight broke out between the two.
Pulkit Arya, owner of Vananthara Resort, had informed the Revenue Inspector Talla, Ganga Bhogpur about the missing of Ankita Bhandari on the morning of 19 September 2022. On 22 September 2022, the investigation of this case was transferred from the Revenue Police to the regular police, which was investigated by SSI Manohar Singh Rawat. During the investigation, a case of murder, sexual exploitation, destruction of evidence and criminal conspiracy was registered. After the body was recovered on 24 September 2022, a SIT team was formed on the orders of the government and advance investigation was given to Inspector Rajendra Kholia.
During the investigation, it also came to light that on September 17, 2022, Ankita Bhandari told her friend Pushpdeep in a chat that a VIP guest was going to come to the resort and was being pressurized to provide extra service. On this matter Ankita scolded the culprit Ankit Gupta. This has also been mentioned in the court trial. The VIP issue has once again heated up after the audio between former MLA Suresh Rathore and Urmila Sanawar was broadcast on the internet media. In such a situation, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has recommended a CBI investigation.
Decision taken in accordance with public sentiments
Senior advocate Rajiv Sharma said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has taken this decision in accordance with public sentiments. The Chief Minister has kept in mind the sentiments of the common people while rejecting all pressure. If the name of any VIP comes up in the CBI investigation, then investigation will be conducted in that direction.
Government wants impartial investigation
Government advocate Rajiv Gupta said that this is a good step by the government. The government wants an impartial investigation into this matter. Milk will turn milk into water in CBI investigation. There is a demand of the common people that if the VIP is traced then the government should get a CBI inquiry done.
The government should have taken the decision earlier
Senior advocate Raghav said that if new facts are coming to light in the case, then it is necessary to get it investigated. The Chief Minister has recommended CBI, if this decision had been taken some time ago then people would not have had to come out on the streets. From the point of view of the Constitution, common citizens are the best, hence it is necessary to protect their rights.
