Mob Lynching in Bihar: In Nawada district of Bihar, the mob beat up 70-year-old Gaya Manjhi due to superstition. His wife was sentenced to Taliban on charges of witchcraft. Police has started action by taking 5 to 6 people in custody in the case.
Bihar Crime News: On Tuesday (August 26, 2025) night in Nawada, Bihar, people performed a man’s mob lynching, killing him. His wife’s head was shaved and lime. The incident is of Panchu Garh Mushari of Hisua police station area of the district. The woman was suspected of being a witch, due to which the whole incident happened. The deceased has been identified as 70 -year -old Gaya Manjhi. His wife is seriously injured.
Trying to burn the couple alive
It is also alleged that both of them were stripped naked and garlanded shoes and slippers and rotated in the locality. On Wednesday morning, the crowd was also going to burn both alive near the crematorium. Meanwhile, the police have detained five to six people, which continues to be questioned. The incident took place late on Tuesday night, on the information, the dial 112 police team reached the night and returned to calm down the matter, but people beat the couple badly as soon as the police left.
Gaya Manjhi’s body was sent for postmortem
Police of Hisua police station reached the spot on Wednesday (August 27, 2025). Police sent Gaya Manjhi’s body to Nawada for post -mortem. The injured woman was admitted to Hisua Community Hospital. The police has started investigating the entire case. In this whole case, SI Rupa Kumari of Hisua police station said that we got information that the people of the locality attacked Gaya Manjhi and his wife as a witch. Gaya Manjhi died in assault. His wife is seriously injured. The crowd shaved their heads, garlanded shoes and slippers and rotated throughout the locality. Tried to burn them alive. The body and the injured woman were recovered from near the crematorium. The police is investigating the case and action.
