Monthly Shivratri July 2026: The day of Krishna’s Chaturdashi tithi of every month is very special for the devotees of Lord Shiva, because the devotees of Lord Shiva observe the holy fast of monthly Shivratri on this day. Along with observing a fast on this day, devotees worship their deity with full rituals and pray for his happiness and prosperity. There is a religious belief that fasting and worshiping on this day brings special blessings of Mahadev.

Monthly Shivratri fast is going to be observed in the month of Ashadh in July. According to Drik Panchang, the monthly Shivratri fast of Ashadh month in July will be observed on 12th July. Shiva is worshiped during Nishita period on the day of monthly Shivratri. Nishita Kaal is being attained on the monthly Shivratri of Ashadha month on Sunday, 12th July. In such a situation, according to Nishita Kaal, the monthly Shivratri fast will be observed on Sunday, 12th July.

The auspicious time for worship on the day of Monthly Shivratri will be from 12:07 AM to 12:47 AM on July 12.

On the day of monthly Shivaratri, take a pledge to worship Lord Shiva in your home temple or Shivalaya. Anoint Shivling with water, milk, curd, honey and Ganga water. After this, offer Belpatra, Dhatura, Aak flower and white sandalwood. Offer cannabis, fruits and sweets to Shiva. Chant Om Namah Shivay mantra and read Shiv Chalisa. At night during Nishita period, anoint Shivalinga again and perform aarti.
