Chhattisgarh government has extended the period of Chief Minister Electricity Bill Solution Scheme-2026 till 30 September. More than 28 lakh eligible consumers will get relief in outstanding bills.

As per the announcement of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company has extended the period of Chief Minister Electricity Bill Solution Scheme-2026 till 30 September 2026. In this regard, revised orders have been issued by the Office of the Chief Engineer (Human Resources). Earlier this scheme was applicable till June 30, 2026, but now eligible consumers will be able to avail its benefits for the next three months also.
Order issued after the announcement of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai had announced to extend the duration of the scheme in view of the positive response it is getting from consumers. After this, the Power Distribution Company has issued a formal order and implemented the decision to keep the scheme effective till 30 September 2026.
Relief to consumers troubled by outstanding electricity bills during Corona period
Due to the economic crisis during the Corona epidemic, a large number of domestic, BPL and agricultural category consumers were not able to pay their electricity bills on time. With the aim of providing relief to such consumers, the state government had started the Mukhyamantri Bijli Bill Samadhan Yojana, so that they can easily settle the outstanding amount.
More than 28 lakh consumers will get the benefit of the scheme
According to the state government, under this scheme, about 28 lakh 42 thousand eligible consumers of the state are being given benefits. Through the scheme, relief of about Rs 757 crore is being provided in the outstanding electricity bills, which will provide financial assistance to lakhs of families and farmers.
Which consumers will get the benefit of discount in electricity bill?
Under the Chief Minister Electricity Bill Solution Scheme, low pressure domestic, BPL and agricultural category non-government consumers are being given exemption in the principal amount and surcharge of the outstanding electricity bill as per rules. Eligible consumers can avail this facility by settling their outstanding bills as per the prescribed rules.
Now additional opportunity will be available till 30 September 2026
By increasing the duration of the scheme, additional time of three months has been given to those eligible consumers who due to some reason were not able to avail the benefits of the scheme till now. Now they can apply till 30 September 2026 and get the prescribed relaxation.
Appeal of power company, avail the benefits of the scheme in time
Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company has appealed to all eligible consumers to contact their nearest electricity office by 30 September 2026. There, by completing the necessary process, you can settle the outstanding electricity bill and avail the discount available under the scheme. The company has clarified that all other conditions of the scheme will remain applicable as before.
