Dr. Amit explains that the demand for carbohydrate foods in the body increases in winter. In such a situation, one starts feeling like eating sweets. Therefore, in winter, diabetic patients need to pay more attention to their diet. So that the sugar level remains under control.
How to control sweet cravings?
If you have diabetes and want to eat sweets, then take jaggery in small quantities as per doctor’s advice. Apart from this, eat low-glycemic fruits like apple, pear, guava. You can also eat one date a day. Along with this type of diet, definitely take protein also. For this, eat pulses, gram and salad. Try not to remain hungry for long and keep eating light food every 3 hours. Also keep in mind that do not eat too much food at one go. Keep the stomach slightly empty. Also take care of drinking water and drink at least seven glasses of water a day.
According to Dr. Amit, it is important for diabetes patients to take special care of their health in this season. Because many times a person becomes careless in eating due to cravings. This increases the sugar level which can be dangerous.
