Bhilwara School Accident: An incident occurred on Tuesday in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, which revealed the reality of the dilapidated buildings of government schools. An old room suddenly collapsed at the Government Primary School in Raela town. There were 73 children present in the school at the time of the incident, but fortunately no child was injured.
Eyewitnesses told the scene of Bhilwara school
- According to eyewitnesses, the children were studying in their classrooms in the afternoon, when there was a loud voice from an old room. On seeing this, the roof and walls of that room fell. The voice was so loud that the children got nervous and the staff immediately reached the spot. The nearby villagers also came to school. Thankfully, no one was present in the room where the part fell.
- The school administration says that this room was in poor condition for a long time. It was closed during inspection so that the children could not go there. The Principal said that the foundation of the room was weakened due to continuous accumulation of rain water. Many times complaints of this problem were sent to higher officials, but no concrete action was taken.
Villagers raised questions on Bhilwara prasanas
- After the incident, the villagers expressed displeasure at the education department. He says that if the room was already in dangerous condition, then why was the repair not done? The negligence of the department for the safety of children could give rise to a major accident.
- As soon as the incident was reported, the administration sent the team and the work of removing debris has been started. Departmental officials have said that the school building will be re -inspected and the dilapidated parts will be repaired soon.
- The incident makes it clear that many government schools are still deprived of basic facilities and safe structures. Experts believe that if maintenance is not taken care of in time, then such accidents can take even more serious form in future.
