New Delhi: Sanju Samson continued his red-hot form for his team Kochi Blue Tigers in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) 2025 on Tuesday, with a blistering knock of 89 runs off just 46 balls against Thrissur Titans. Samson did the unthinkable by smashing 13 runs off just a single delivery enroute to his 89-run knock in the match.
The Team India wicket-keeper batter has been in sensational form in the Kerala Cricket League 2025 so far. After a dismal outing batting at no.6 in a match against the Alleppey Rippled on August 23, Samson has bounced back among the runs following his return to the top order. He smashed a stunning century while opening the batting against Aries Kollam Sailors in his side’s last match and continued his stellar run against the Titans on Tuesday.
During the 5th over of his side’s innings, Samson scored 13 runs off just 1 ball against Sijomon Jospeh. The incident happened on the 4th delivery of the over, when Samson slammed the ball overthe deep extra cover boundary for a six. Unfortunately for the Titans, the delivery turned out to be a no-ball as the bowler had overstepped.
Samson made the most of the extra delivery as he smashed another six over deep extra cover to earn 13 runs from just 1 legal delivery. Samson played a cracking knock of 89 runs off 46 balls, laced with 9 sixes and 4 fours to help his team post a strong total of 188 runs on the board, batting first in the match.

Despite Samson’s batting heroics, the Kochi Blue Tigers suffered a crushing 5-wicket defeat after failing to defend the total of 188 runs. Opener Ahammed Imran’s 40-ball 72 and skipper Sijomon Joseph’s quickfire 23-ball 42 helped Thrissur Titans chase down the target in 20 overs to win the match by 5 wickets.
