Gate 2026: The application process of gate 2026 (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) will start from 28 August 2025 as per the new schedule. Earlier this process was to start from August 25, but now it has been extended three days forward. In such a situation, the candidates who want to apply for GATE 2026, should know the entire details in advance. For example, which documents are to be uploaded, who can apply and how long the last date is. Read further to know.
What documents will be needed to apply Gate 2026
While filling the form, candidates will have to scan and upload some necessary documents. These include-
- Clean and good quality image of passport size photo
- Clean scan copy of candidate’s signature
- Scan copy of any recognized photo ID card (this is the original ID showing at the exam center)
- SC, ST category certificate (in PDF format if applicable)
- UDID or disability certificate (if applicable, in PDF format)
- Dyslexic Certificate (If applied, in PDF format)
- Other important attachments (in PDF format if applicable)
GATE 2026: Who can apply?
Candidates who are studying in a 3rd year or above degree program from a recognized university or institute can apply. Candidates who have completed degrees in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts or Humanities are also eligible to apply. Keep in mind that the degree should be approved by Moe, AICTE, UGC or UPSC. Candidates studying abroad can also apply for GATE 2026.
Last date and late fee to apply gate 2026
Candidates can apply till 28 September 2025 without late fees. At the same time, from 29 September to 9 October 2025, you will get a chance to fill the form with late fees.

When will the result come?
