Bollywood actress Ananya Panday surprised fans with an unexpected collaboration with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in a new advertisement that has quickly caught attention.
The hilarious shampoo ad showed them taking shots at each other while shooting together. The actress wrote that this collaboration was definitely not on her 2026 Bingo card. Meanwhile, her parents, Chunky Panday and Bhavana Panday, found the ad hilarious and could not contain their laughter.
Ananya Panday And Anurag Kashyap Team Up For Hilarious Ad
The ad begins with Ananya Panday shooting for an Anurag Kashyap film. While she shoots for a scene where she is kidnapped, Anurag screams ‘Cut’ and points out that her hair looks too flawless for the scene. “Arey cut yaar. Maine bola tha na aaj baal dhoke mat aana (I told you not to wash your hair today).” Ananya replies, “But sir, I haven’t washed my hair. You know I am a method actor.” Anurag points out that it looks like she has come out of a salon, and it doesn’t fit the scene that they are filming for. He appears visibly annoyed and is about to walk off the set when Ananya cuts in with a fiery monologue.
Fed up with the filmmaker, Ananya tells him, “Don’t think I didn’t notice. ADs ke saath aap mera shot discuss karte waqt mujhe ‘Bandra Panday’ bulaate ho. I think you’re actually scared of shooting a glam commercial film. Because if it gets successful, you’ll lose your indie filmmaker cred and end up shooting some shampoo ad. Ananya Panday shared the video and wrote, “An Anurag Kashyap film definitely wasn’t on my 2026 bingo card. But things went off-script because my hair stole the scene. Some say tantrums, I say TRESemmé.”
Chunky Panday Reacts
Soon after Ananya posted the ad, her father, Chunky Panday, commented, “Faaab,” along with a laughing emoji. Bhavana Pandey also dropped laughing emojis. One comment on the post read, “Meta, witty, and effortless. Hair really said “main character energy,” while another comment read, “An ad I’d actually watch till the end.”
When Anurag Kashyap Praised Ananya Panday
In July last year, Anurag Kashyap praised Ananya Panday’s professional growth in the years following Siddhant Chaturvedi’s now-famous “struggle” remark. In an interview with The Juggernaut, Kashyap reflected on how Ananya has seemingly evolved, especially after that moment during a group interview when Siddhant had said, “Our struggle begins where your privilege ends.”
“I think she has figured out. That one thing that happened long back in an interview when Siddhant Chaturvedi had said, ‘Our struggle begins when yours ends,’ I think she took it very personally. I think something happened, altered inside her, because something about her changed after that,” he said.
He went on to add that her performances in CTRL and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan reflected that shift. “Something flipped inside her, and she found herself, or she is on the path to find herself. Whatever it is, she is doing great stuff. She took a risk, she is taking risks, and she is quite mature. She experiments and is not playing safe, unlike others,” Anurag added.
