New Delhi: Bollywood veteran Sanjay Dutt may be a household name for his stellar career and striking persona, but this week it was his daughter Trishala Dutt who stirred conversations online. Known for living a life away from the limelight, Trishala’s recent social media post on family and parenting has caught the attention of netizens and also sparked curiosity amongst Bollywood buffs.
On Monday (August 25), the psychotherapist shared a lengthy note centred on mental health and the complexities of family dynamics. Scroll down to read about them in detail!

Her words, which many interpreted as cryptic, highlighted the importance of setting boundaries even within close relationships. “Not everyone who shares your blood deserves a place in your life. Sometimes, the most draining, invalidating, and dismissive people we know carry the title ‘family’,” she wrote.
Her post further read, “You’re allowed to protect your peace. You’re allowed to go low-contact or no contact. You’re allowed to choose your mental health over preserving the family image.” She stressed that, “Because ‘family’ is not a free pass to mistreat, manipulate, or guilt-trip you. You DO NOT owe continued access to anyone who keeps hurting you — even if they raised you.”

The heartfelt note did not go unnoticed. Fans expressed concern and flooded her comments section with supportive messages, many wondering what could have prompted such thoughts. The post arrived shortly after Sanjay himself had penned a warm birthday tribute to his daughter earlier this month, sharing a photograph with the caption, “Happy birthday @trishaladutt, always proud of you, always love you.”
All about Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Trishala Dutt
For the unversed, Trishala was born in 1988 to Sanjay Dutt and his first wife, the late actress Richa Sharma. She has lived most of her life in the United States. A practising psychotherapist, she has consciously chosen to keep her personal life private despite her connection to one of Bollywood’s most influential families. Richa tragically passed away in 1996 after a battle with brain cancer, leaving Sanjay to raise their daughter.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt, who later married Maanayata Dutt in 2008, is busy with multiple film commitments. He will next appear in KD – The Devil, a Kannada pan-India film directed by Prem and based on real events from 1970s Bangalore. He also features in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, alongside Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, and R Madhavan.
