Sonam Bali and Venkatesh Nagarajan won the Mixed Doubles 35+ final at the Coimbatore Pickleball Open 2025 after a nervy finale against Ganeshkumar Baskaran and Kamini Murugaboopathy.
The final score, which read 15-14, showed how close it went until the last point.
Sonam and Venkatesh built their campaign with solid performances. They opened with an 11-0 win over Krithika Jeevandas and Azlif Abdul Shereef, before edging past Prerana Prathap and Saravanan Chandrasekar 11-7 in the semifinal to book their place in the title clash.
Ganeshkumar and Kamini, meanwhile, had an equally impressive run. After beating Rohit Ahuja and Darshana Balagopal 11-10 in the quarters, they ousted Shilpa Sham and Usha Sethi 11-3 in the semifinal to storm into the final.
It was a thrilling affair in the summit clash where both pairs went all guns blazing as neither allowed the other to pull away. At 14-14, it came down to the wire before a single point sealed the victory for Sonam and Venkatesh.
