Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025: All you need to know about India’s first-ever international javelin event

New Delhi: The first-ever Neeraj Chopra Classic javelin event is scheduled to take place today in Bengaluru. The event was originally scheduled to be held in Neeraj’s home state of Haryana but shifted to Bengaluru at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium and has been granted the World Athletics Gold level status.

This historic event is co-organised by two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra and JSW Sports, and approved by the Athletics Federation of India, marks a major leap forward for Indian athletics. This will be one of the most historic track & field meets held in the country for years to come, as some of the best athletes in the world have a chance to etch their name in history.

Five Indian javelin players, including Neeraj Chopra, Rohit Yadav, Sachin Yadav, Yash Vir Singh, and Sahil Silwal will take part in the inaugural NC Classic. Neeraj himself will certainly be amongst the strongest contenders to win the gold medal at this event. Along with him, two other hurlers have thrown 90+ present at this event: 2016 Olympic winner Germany’s Thomas Rohler, and Kenya’s 2015 World Champion Julius Yego.
