Nagpur (Maharashtra): A shocking case has come to light in Nagpur, where a wife has been accused of getting her husband murdered. According to the police, the woman, fed up with domestic disputes, had given contract to hired killers to kill her husband. The Crime Branch of Nagpur Police has arrested two people including the accused wife, while the search for two other accused is going on.

He was returning home after drinking tea.

Police said that 45-year-old Ganesh Borkar was returning home from a tea shop on the night of July 2. Then he was attacked with sharp weapons near Bhandewadi, due to which he died on the spot. A case of murder was registered at Bhandewadi police station on the complaint of the deceased’s mother.

The wife had earlier threatened her husband with murder.

The Crime Branch and Bhandewadi Police worked together to investigate the case. The police examined technical evidence, intelligence and statements of family members. During investigation, the police came to know that there were frequent fights between the husband and wife and the wife had threatened the husband earlier also. After this the needle of suspicion rested on the wife of the deceased.

Husband’s life sold in a deal of Rs 1 lakh!

  • Police have identified the accused wife as 37-year-old Manisha Borkar. During interrogation, Manisha confessed to plotting the murder. According to investigators, she was living separately with her children due to domestic dispute and had paid contract killers a sum of Rs 1 lakh to kill her husband.
  • Police said that Rs 50,000 was given in advance, while the remaining amount was to be given after the work was completed.
  • In this case, police have arrested Manisha Borkar and 29 year old Abhijeet Sakhare. Police say that two more accused, identified as Rohit Borkar and a minor, are absconding. Efforts are on to search for him.
  • According to the police, deceased Ganesh also had a criminal record. There were 18 cases registered against him related to attempt to murder, illicit liquor smuggling and other crimes.
  • Police say that investigation is going on to find out the role of all the people involved in this conspiracy and to nab the remaining accused. Further legal action is being taken in the matter.
