Prime Minister Narendra Modi insisted on buying ‘Made in India’ products during the festive season and said that the interests of small traders and farmers will be protected.

Narendra modi in ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday urged citizens to prioritize the purchase of ‘Made in India’ products during the festive season coming. The PM said that buying indigenous goods during festivals like Navratri, Vijayadashami, Dhanteras and Diwali will contribute to the self -reliance and economic progress of the country.

Choose Made in India Product in PM’s appeal festivals

Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of several development projects in Ahmedabad, the Prime Minister reiterated his call for ‘Swadeshi’. The PM appealed to both businesses and individuals to choose locally manufactured items to promote national prosperity. Said,

This is the season of festivals. Now Navratri, Vijayadashami, Dhanteras, Diwali… All these festivals are coming. These are celebrations of our culture, but it should also be a celebration of self -sufficiency. Therefore, I want to repeat my request once again that we should adopt a mantra in our life. Whatever we buy will be ‘Made in India’, it will be indigenous. I appeal to the citizens of our country to give priority to purchasing goods which are ‘Made in India’. Whether it is decorative items or gifts, let us choose products manufactured in our country.

The PM encouraged businesses to avoid selling imported goods. Said, “These small but impressive steps can play an important role in furthering our country’s progress and prosperity.”

New-middle class is giving pace to the development of the country

The Prime Minister also announced the upcoming reforms in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system. This Diwali promised to give “double bonus of happiness” to businesses and families. Highlighting India’s economic achievements, PM Modi claimed that 25 crore people have come out of poverty in the last 11 years. This has created a “neo-middle class”, which is leading the development of the country, along with the existing middle class. They said,

When a person conquers poverty, he emerges as a source of new strength, which we now call the ‘neo-middle class’. Today, this new-middle class, with long-standing middle class, has developed into a significant power to carry forward the progress of our country. Our mission is to continue to empower both the middle class and the new-middle class, recognizing their important role in shaping the future of the country.
