Premanand Maharaj Shastrarth: A new debate has gained momentum these days in the spiritual world. The demand for debate between Radha Rani’s exclusive worshiper and famous saint Premanand Maharaj and Jagadguru Rambhadracharya of Chitrakoot are continuously increasing. Followers of both saints are adamant that there should be debate between them, so that it can be clear which opinion is more authentic.
How did the controversy start?
The whole matter began with a viral video. In the video, Jagadguru was seen saying during the Rambhadracharya Katha that the name Ram is more influential than the name Krishna. He also gave his comment on Krishna’s Raas. These things were not accepted by the followers of Premanand Maharaj at all. He believes that Krishna’s name and his pastimes are supreme. After this, a debate broke out between the devotees of both saints on social media, which has now reached the demand for debate.

Now the question arises that what is the scripture. Shastraarth means debate or dialogue based on scriptures. It is an ancient tradition of India, in which two or more scholars argue on the basis of scriptures on a religious or philosophical subject. Its purpose is not to degrade anyone, but to establish the truth and spread knowledge.
Why are devotees demanding debate?
Followers of the two saints want debate to prove their beliefs. Devotees say that this will not only establish the superiority of his saint’s thoughts, but the illusion that has spread about religious beliefs will also be far away. However, neither Premanand Maharaj nor Rambhadracharya have reacted to the controversy so far.
When was the first debate in history?
The most famous example of debate in history took place between Adi Shankaracharya and Mandan Mishra. It is said that in this debate, Mandan Mishra’s wife Abhay Bharti also challenged Shankaracharya. Finally Shankaracharya defeated Mandan Mishra in debate and later Mandan Mishra became his follower.
