New Delhi: BYD India have hiked the starting price of the Sealion 7 electric SUV by Rs 50,000. The Sealion 7 came to India in February 2025 and is competing in the entry-level electric luxury crossovers like the Tela Model Y, Kia EV6, BMW iX1 LWB, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volvo EC40 and many more.
Earlier, the Sealion 7 base trim, the Premium, was priced at Rs 48.9 lakh (ex-showroom) and the top-spec Performance was priced at Rs 54.9 lakh (ex-showroom). Now the Sealion 7 Premium costs Rs 49.4 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Performance trim remains unchanged. For those who have booked on or before 31st December, the Premium will be priced at the existing pricing.
The Chinese EV brand recently also revealed that they sold over 2,300 units of the Sealion 7 in India since being launched last year.

The BYD SEALION 7 remains a strong value offering, backed by its advanced electric architecture, high performance and comprehensive safety package. Since its launch, the BYD SEALION 7 has crossed 2,300 units in sales across India, reinforcing the growing acceptance and demand for premium electric SUVs in the market.”
BYD Sealion 7 battery
The Sealion 7 comes with an 82.56 kWh LFP battery pack. In the Premium trim, it is powered by a back-mounted motor that produces 313 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The Performance pack has another motor at the front axle, making it an AWD configuration, and the output goes to 530 bhp and 690 Nm of torque. The claimed range for Premium is 482 km, while for the Performance, it is 456 km.
