Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai held a major review meeting regarding Kharif 2026 and possible deficient rainfall. Big decisions like 46 thousand tonnes of DAP for farmers, water conservation, scientific farming and 125 days employment under VB-G Ram Ji Yojana were taken.

In view of the possibility of possible less rainfall with the beginning of Kharif season 2026, the Chhattisgarh government has intensified preparations. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai clearly said in a high-level review meeting on Friday that there will be no compromise with the interests of farmers. The government has given instructions to prepare a detailed action plan on every front, from availability of fertilizers and seeds to irrigation, water conservation and rural employment.

Farmers will get the facility of adequate DAP and fertilizer and seeds.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that after a request from the Central Government, more than 46 thousand tonnes of DAP fertilizer has been made available to Chhattisgarh, which is more than the normal supply. Due to this, farmers will not face any problem in getting fertilizer on time during Kharif season. He instructed the officials to ensure timely supply of fertilizers and seeds in all the districts. Besides, instructions were also given to take strict action against sale of fake seeds, non-standard fertilizers and black marketing.

Special focus will be on scientific farming and water conservation

In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that modern agricultural techniques like short and medium term paddy varieties, Direct Seeded Rice (DSR), row sowing, seed treatment and moisture conservation should be taken to every village. While giving instructions to make the ‘Mor Gaon Mor Paani’ campaign more effective, he stressed on giving priority to farm ponds, rain water conservation, construction of water structures and groundwater augmentation. Also, an appeal was made to the farmers to do farming after taking scientific advice from agricultural universities, agricultural science centers and experts.

125 days employment will be provided through VB-Ji Ram Ji Yojana

It was told in the meeting that under the VB-G Ram Ji scheme started from July 1, 2026, rural families will now get employment for 125 days instead of 100 days. The wages under the scheme have been fixed at Rs 300 per day.

The Chief Minister said that through this scheme, priority will be given to works related to water conservation, water security and natural resources, which will provide employment to the villagers and will also strengthen the water security of the state. Apart from this, for the safety of farmers, instructions were also given to widely disseminate ‘Sachet’, ‘Damini’ and ‘Meghdoot’ mobile apps of India Meteorological Department, so that timely information related to weather and lightning can reach the farmers.

The Chief Minister told the officials that the bulletins and scientific advice of the Agricultural University should be publicized as much as possible, so that the correct information reaches every farmer on time and farming is not affected even in the event of possible scanty rainfall.
