UIDAI has started the facility to update email ID in Aadhaar online for free by launching the new Aadhaar App. Now link email in a few minutes from mobile without visiting Aadhaar Seva Kendra and get authentication alerts directly on email.
If your Aadhaar card does not yet have an email ID linked or you want to change the old email, then there will be no need to go to the Aadhaar Seva Center for this. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a new feature on its new Aadhaar App from July 1, through which users can link or update email ID in Aadhaar for free from mobile. This facility will currently be available till December 31 and the entire process will be online.
This facility will be available for free till 31st December
According to the notification issued by UIDAI, through the new Aadhaar app, users can update their email ID without any documents and without visiting the Aadhaar service center. According to the government, within just two days of the launch of this digital service, more than 2.5 lakh people updated their email IDs in Aadhaar. It is clear from this that the new facility is getting good response from the people.
Update will happen from mobile in few minutes
According to UIDAI, the process of updating email in Aadhaar is very easy. First of all, the new Aadhaar App has to be downloaded and setup in Android or Apple iOS device. After this, the email ID can be linked or updated by completing some easy steps through the app. There will be no need to upload any document or visit the Aadhaar Seva Kendra in this process. The entire process will be completed within a few minutes.
What will be the benefit of linking email?
The biggest advantage of linking email ID with Aadhaar is security. Whenever your Aadhaar number is used for any authentication, its information will be immediately sent to your email. With this you will be able to easily know when and where your Aadhaar has been used. If someone tries to do unauthorized access, you will get an instant alert. The new Aadhaar App also provides facilities like keeping e-Aadhaar safe in mobile, sharing identity through face scan, biometric login, multi-language support and viewing Aadhaar even without internet.
The Aadhaar project, which started in the year 2009, has today reached more than 130 crore people of the country. The government now aims to provide facilities to the people at home by making most of the services related to Aadhaar completely digital.
