Jayasurya Summoned In ED Fraud Case? Actor Calls Allegations ‘Lies’

Jayasurya, popular Malayalam movie has dismissed reports suggesting that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) issued him a fresh summons in connection with the Save Box App deposit fraud case.

In a latest Instagram post, he went on to say that neither him nor his wife have received any notice from the authorities for a further appearance scheduled on January 7. The actor also criticised certain TV channels and news outlets for spreading misinformation about his involvement in the investigation.

Jayasurya began his note (written in Malayalam) with the title, “When spreading lies becomes media ethics,” in regards to what he sees as a pattern of false reporting regarding the fraud case. He posted , “For the past two days, I have been watching the spread of lies about me in utter shock. This campaign of misinformation started with the claim that I have been issued a summon and must appear again on the 7th.”

He clarified, “Up until the moment of writing this note, neither I nor my wife have received any such summons from the ED, except for the ‘summons’ we have been receiving via news channels for the last two days. I received a summon to appear on the 24th, and I appeared. They asked us to appear again on the 29th, and we complied. Other than that, we have not yet received any summons to appear again on the 7th.”

Jayasurya questioned, “Can any of us predict today what kind of frauds might be committed tomorrow by those who approach us for advertisements or other professional purposes? “I am merely a responsible ordinary citizen who conducts all financial transactions legally and pays accurate taxes to the public treasury.” Talking about the media trial , he said, “When I see the media – which is duty-bound to deliver objective facts to the people -stooping to this level, I can only feel pity…” He added, “An era where the media serves lies… What a state of affairs…!!!”

About Jayasurya’s ED Fraud Case


The ED enquiry shows payments made to Jayasurya and his wife Saritha as part of a promotional agreement for the Save Box App, an online auction app launched in 2019 by Swadiq Rahim. Jayasurya was reportedly promised Rs 2 crore to serve as brand ambassador. The ED noted that about Rs 1 crore had been received by the actor and his wife . Investigations revealed that the funds came from companies linked to Swadiq Rahim, the primary accused in the fraud case. The Save Box App fraud was brought to public attention in 2023.
