Headlined by Vijay, the Tamil political action thriller is scheduled to hit cinemas on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival.
According to a recent post shared by film industry tracker Christopher Kanagaraj on X, Jana Nayagan has recorded North America premiere pre-sales of approximately $400,000 across 475 shows, with reported occupancy at around 42.5 percent. The figures are based on early tracking and reflect bookings ahead of the film’s premiere screenings in the region.
Another trade observer, Sreedhar Pillai, also commented on the film’s early momentum in overseas territories. In a separate social media post, he noted heightened interest for Jana Nayagan worldwide, even as advance booking outside Tamil Nadu is yet to open.
Film Details, Trailer Launch Plans, and Audio Event Highlights
Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan is positioned as a political action thriller. The film features Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, and Bobby Deol in prominent roles, alongside an ensemble cast that includes Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Narain. Notably, the project has been described as Vijay’s final film before his planned full-time entry into active politics.
The makers are set to advance the promotional campaign with the release of the film’s trailer on January 3. KVN Productions has confirmed that the trailer will be unveiled simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi at 6:45 pm, marking a key moment in the run-up to the theatrical release.
