‘Thought My Role Was Over!’-Dilip Ghosh Opens Up After Private Meeting with Amit Shah

After being sidelined for nearly eight months, former West Bengal BJP President Dilip Ghosh has made a high-profile comeback. Following a closed-door meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Kolkata, Dilip Ghosh hinted that he is set to receive a major responsibility in the upcoming state elections.

Speaking to the media, a candid Dilip Ghosh said, “I felt the party no longer needed me, but Amit Shah ji told me to get back to work.” He emphasized that winning Bengal requires the collective effort of every worker who has faced violence and jail. Ghosh also expressed his firm desire to contest the assembly elections from his stronghold, Kharagpur, stating that the party has “learnt its lesson” from past experiments with shifting his constituency. His meeting with Amit Shah is seen as a strategic move to unite the party’s grassroots strength before the crucial 2026 battle.
