It is said to always keep the light on in every house. One should not keep the house dark even by mistake on the first day of the New Year. Keep light in the north-east direction on the first day of the year, otherwise poverty comes. Light a lamp at the main entrance and temple of the house.
Do not exchange money
Money transactions often cause troubles in life. Astrologers say that money transactions should not be done on the first day of the new year. It is not good to do this. It is believed that by doing this, money problems persist throughout the year and there is no prosperity.
