Priyadarshan claimed that ‘Hera Pheri 3’ might never be made due to legal disputes, personal differences and repeated insults. He has made shocking allegations.
Amidst the long-running speculations about ‘Hera Pheri 3’, director Priyadarshan has surprised the fans by giving a big statement. After confirming his separation from the film, he has now claimed that due to legal disputes and personal differences, this most awaited comedy film will probably never reach the screens. Priyadarshan also made many serious allegations against producer Firoz Nadiadwala and said that he was insulted many times. However, he also clarified that Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal wanted him to direct the third part of this franchise.
Why did Priyadarshan leave ‘Hera Pheri 3’?
Priyadarshan said that there was not just one reason for his leaving the film. According to him, the constant legal disputes, copyright issues and differences with producer Firoz Nadiadwala became so serious that he thought the film might never be made. Speaking to Mid Day, he said, “As far as I know, ‘Hera Pheri 3’ will probably never release due to various legal problems and personal disputes. It doesn’t matter whether I am a part of it or not.”

What allegations did Priyadarshan make against Firoz Nadiadwala?
During the conversation, Priyadarshan claimed that producer Firoz Nadiadwala insulted him several times. He said, “Firoz had told Akshay – ‘You have the rights to make ‘Hera Pheri 3′, but don’t make it with Priyadarshan. This is my only request.’ He insulted me many times. He said that my cut of ‘Hera Pheri’ looked like a poor man’s film and he had to re-edit my five-hour long film.”
Why did Priyadarshan sign ‘Hera Pheri 3’?
According to Priyadarshan, he had agreed to do the film only because he felt that he could take the country’s biggest comedy franchise to new heights. He said, “If I had directed it, I could have made it a bigger film than ‘Dhurandhar’.” Priyadarshan told that after hearing the story of the film, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal were very excited. He said, “Akshay, Sunil and Paresh all three had requested me to make ‘Hera Pheri 3’. When I narrated the story to them, everyone was very excited.”

When did the legal dispute start on ‘Hera Pheri 3’?
Priyadarshan revealed that he had already got a hint of a possible legal dispute in 2025. He told, “When ‘Hera Pheri 3’ was announced, I got a call from G.P. Vijayakumar of Seven Arts Films. He said that if this film is made, it will be a violation of rights. At that time I did not understand what to do.” He further added, “‘Hera Pheri’ was born, ‘Hera Pheri 2’ got sick and according to me, ‘Hera Pheri 3’ will die.”
Will Priyadarshan work with Akshay Kumar again?
Although Priyadarshan is no longer a part of ‘Hera Pheri 3’, his professional partnership with Akshay Kumar remains intact. Both will soon be seen together in their eighth film ‘Haivaan’, which is scheduled to release on 11 September 2026. Saif Ali Khan also plays an important role in this. Apart from this, Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar are also working together on a new comic entertainer film. This film will be made under the banner of Tips Films.
