Sandeep Reddy Vanga has kept alive the tradition of New Year unveils with Spirit, his next directorial after Animal in 2023. Starring Prabhas and , the film is scheduled to release in 2026. At midnight on January 1, Sandeep unveiled the first look of Spirit on social media.
According to reports, the film is a bold medical-cop drama revolving around a doctor and a cop, reportedly played by Triptii and Prabhas respectively. The release date hasn’t been announced. The first look of Spirit is intense, bold and raw. Prabhas is seen in a new avatar, unlike his previous releases. Spirit marks Prabhas and Sandeep’s first collaboration, whereas the director has worked with Triptii in Animal.
Spirit first poster out
The first poster of Spirit features a severely wounded Prabhas. Triptii can be seen nursing him, but with a cigarette. Similar to Sandeep’s previous films, such as Animal, Arjun Reddy, and Kabir Singh, Spirit appears to be a bold take on love and relationships. Sharing the poster, the makers wrote, “Kicking off the New Year with the first poster of #Spirit”
About Spirit
In September 2025, Sandeep opened up about and shared an update on Jagapathi Babu’s talk show. He said, “It’s easier to shoot a film when the BGM (Background Music) is playing in the set. We can easily know when to say the cut. During Kabir Singh, I understood that if the BGM is done before the commencement of the production, the shooting will be much easier. I didn’t have that privilege during Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, but for Animal, 80% of BGM was done before the shoot. Even now, for Spirit, 70% of BGM is already ready.”
He further added, “I feel we can save a lot of time this way. In totality, we can save around 5 to 6 days of production. Prabhas is very transparent and very sweet to work with. Though he is a big star, he doesn’t flaunt it. We will start the shoot soon.”
As per early reports, Prabhas will portray a serious and dedicated police officer on a mission to take down a powerful international crime syndicate and restore his honour. His character will also be shown as a devoted family man with a wife and child.
