Adhik Maas 2026 Pradosh Vrat: Pradosh fast has great importance in Sanatan Dharma. Pradosh fast is observed twice in a month. One on Trayodashi of Krishna Paksha of the month and the other on Trayodashi of Shukla Paksha. The fast of Pradosh is dedicated to Lord Mahadev, the God of Gods. On this day, special worship of Lord Bholenath is done during Pradosh period. Religious belief is that observing Pradosh fast and worshiping Shiva brings happiness in life. Business is going well. Lord Shiva’s grace always remains. This fast also grants salvation.
Pradosh Vrat is observed in the name of Vaar of the day on which Pradosh Vrat falls. Pradosh fast falling in Adhikamas i.e. Malmas is considered to have special significance. Tomorrow i.e. on 28th May is the first Pradosh fast of Adhikamas. Tomorrow is Thursday, hence this Guru Pradosh fast will be observed. Lord Shiva will be worshiped tomorrow during Pradosh period. Date of Pradosh Vrat (Adhik Maas 2026 Guru Pradosh Vrat Tithi)
- According to the Panchang, Trayodashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha Adhikamas is starting on 28th May at 07:56 am.
- At the same time, this date will end on May 29 at 09:50 am.
In such a situation, keeping in view the Pradosh period, the first Pradosh fast of Adhikamas will be observed on Thursday, 28th May.
Auspicious time for worship of Pradosh Vrat (Adhik Maas 2026 Guru Pradosh Vrat Puja Muhurat)
Tomorrow the Pradosh Kaal time will start at 07:12 in the evening. Pradosh Kaal will be at 09.15 pm. This will also be an auspicious time for worshiping Shiva. Shiva devotees should worship at this time tomorrow.
Pradosh Vrat Puja Vidhi
During Guru Pradosh fast, wake up in Brahma Muhurta, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this take a pledge to keep the fast. Then offer Belpatra, water, milk, incense, lamp and naivedya on the idol of Lord Shiva. After this, take bath again during Pradosh period and wear clean clothes. Worship Shiva according to the rituals. Offer fruits and sweets to Lord Shiva. At this time also listen to the story of Guru Pradosh Vrat. Chant the mantras of Lord Shiva. Finally, complete the worship by performing Aarti of Lord Shiva.
Importance of Pradosh Vrat (Guru Pradosh Vrat Significance)
Guru Pradosh Vrat is very beneficial especially for knowledge, wealth, happiness of children and happiness and peace in married life. Worship of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati on this day gives auspicious results. Also, by observing this fast the position of Jupiter in the horoscope gets strengthened.
